MS and PhD Equivalent Program Review Visit on May 22nd, 2019

Sindh Madressatul Islam University Accreditation and Quality Enhancement Cell (AQEC) conducted a Self-Review of MS and PhD level of Programs as per Higher Education Commission of Pakistan revised criteria for Assessment of AQEC’s by Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) on 22nd May, 2019.
The review panel consisted of three externals and two internal reviewers. Dr. Amber Gul Rashid, Director QEC IBA Karachi, Dr. Shahid Amjad, Director QEC, IoBM and Dr. Imran Khan, Assistant Professor, Computer Science Department, IBA Karachi were invited as external reviewers. Prof. Dr. Syed Asif Ali, Dean of Information Technology and Prof. Dr. Zahid Ali Channar, Dean, Faculty of Management, Business Administration and Commerce, were internal reviewers. Dr. Saima Baig, Director AQEC, Mr. Muhammad Suhail Baloch, Assistant Director AQEC and Ms. Aisha Shamshad, Office Superintendent were the facilitators.
MS Review started at 9:00 am with the Meeting of Dean of Information Technology and Dean, Faculty of Management, Business Administration and Commerce. The panel member’s reviewed documents and annexure of MS and PhD programs of all five departments for two hours. After that the evaluators visited the SMI University facilities e.g. Library, Medical Center, Environmental Sciences Lab, Computer Science Labs, Electronic Lab, Incubation Center, Radio and TV Studio. Than conducted meeting with the Faculty and Students of SMI University
In the end the panel had an exit meeting with the Honorable Dr. Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Vice Chancellor and Meritorious Professor of SM I University were conducted and briefed him about shortcomings in various MS and PhD programs.
