QAA-HEC Review Panel Visited SMIU for Institutional Performance Evaluation on 19th till 21st of January 2022.

QAA-HEC IPE Visit was held on 19th till 21st of January 2022, to review the institution performance. The core purpose of IPE activity is to get guidance & advice from the experts and to adopt the best practices in our university. 

The evaluation panel consisted of Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman       Vice Chancellor, University of Baluchistan, 2. Dr. Farkhanda Manzoor - Ex-VC Lahore College for Women University 3. Mr. Fazal Wahab - Director QEC, Bahria University, Islamabad 4           Mr. Aqeel Akhtar Khan - Director (QAA) HEC Islamabad 5. Ms. Sehar Ansar - Manager Human Resources, Kinnaird College as an Evaluator. Dr. Saima Baig - Director QEC, Mr. Hamza - Assistant Director QEC and Mr. Muhammad Suhail Baloch - Assistant Director QEC were the facilitators.

Dr. Saima Baig Director- AQEC welcomed the panel and gave a brief introduction about university’s continuous efforts being made to meet the standards of HEC. Then she presented SMI University Portfolio Report to the evaluation panel for their Evaluation and further briefed about the schedules of the Evaluation activities to be followed accordingly.

Day 1- Wednesday, January 19, 2022

Day 2- Thursday, January 20, 2022

09:00-10:00 AM	Panel meets for review and discussion
10:00-11:00 AM	Panel meets with Chairmen / heads of departments (List will be provided by IPE Panel)
11:00-12:00 PM	IPE Panel meets with Asst. Professor/lecturer (List will be provided by IPE Panel)
12:00-01:00 PM	Panel meets with the Post Graduate, Graduate and Under graduate students (one from each selected department)
01:00-02:00 PM	Lunch Break
02:00-04:00 PM	Panel meets with the Registrar, Head of Finance, Director P & D, Controller Examination, Director QEC
04:00-05:30 PM	IPE Panel work privately

Note: IPE panel may request meeting with other senior officer for clarification of UPR
Day 3- Friday, January 21, 2022

Time	Activity
09:00-11:00 AM	Visits to selected class room facilities,  laboratories and library
10:00-02:00 AM	IPE Panel continues its work with Lunch
02:00-03:00 PM	Exit interview with VC. It is on the discretion the VC to whom he/she wishes to be present for the exit interview

The observations shared by the IPE panel will be a guiding light for us to further advance the quality of SMIU. In this regard as per the previous practice a corrective action plan based on findings of the IPE report will be prepared with the collaboration of stakeholders to curtail the deficiencies identified. QEC shall be readily available to serve the purpose of enhancing quality education.
